What is the drinking age for your country?
The legal drinking age for China is 18 years old. It was introduced in January of 2006. This is because at 18 a person is considered an adult and is given that right. They don't seem to have very many alcohol problems with this age limit.
What is the social norm for drinking?
Although drinking alcohol in China is a traditional part of everyday life, there has been an increase in consumption and other problems. This isn't much different from the United States.
What is the most common cultural choice of alcohol? (Ex. U.S.- whiskey)
The most common drink is beer but the next is a white liquor called Baijiu which is similar to Brandy but translates to white wine.
What is the country’s legal stance on marijuana use?
Marijuana as well as cannabis plant products are illegal to use in China due to their feelings that it is, of course, a harmful drug as is the stance in the United States.
What is the most commonly abused illegal drug in your country?
There is a rise in the use of the drug ketamine in China because it is easy for people to mass produced in illegal underground labs. Other commonly abused drugs are heroin, morphine, opium, crystal meth, and various others.
